The owner of this hot yoga studio requested the update to appeal to all genders, ages, and cultures. She emphasized avoiding the girly and fluffy look, since this form of hot yoga (90 min practice in heated room temperature of 95-108 F with humidity of 40%) is torturous. She wanted the new look to project the seriousness and toughness of this practice, but also implementing a zin vibe. I practiced this form of yoga for nine years, so I understood her request.
I came up with a simple, clean, and minimalistic design that focus on decluttering. I suggested neutral/white paint with couple of goldish/brownish wall accents and sisal/brownish area rugs. I also suggested adding outdoor elements, such as nonpainted/natural looking wood, live plants, round shaped decorative accents in brass and dark brown finish, and white framed art.
